So let’s start with a little bit of something about myself. At this point I choose not to dwell on anything but what drives me to have this opportunity to write about my thoughts, experiences, joys, and disappointments (maybe). Let this be a place where I can share my thoughts with you. Looking back, I can remember that I began to write at an early age of about eleven or twelve. Not many of you may have been around when things like the assassination of former president John F. Kennedy occurred and the wall that divided East and West Berlin came down. When Kennedy was killed, many cried and were shocked. I wrote. When the Berlin wall was destroyed, many cheered. I wrote. What is it that moves a person to put words on paper? Before I had any understanding what love is, I was making rhymes and talking about feelings which were basically just infatuations. Much of what I can recall of things I experienced “back in the day”, seemed to locked up in my mind and more easily set free when I sit and write. From the collection of poems of events of the times, crushes that came and went and discovering love for the first time, one summer as a teenager. There is much that I don’t remember, but things that find a spot so deep in your soul live with you forever and are always a part of you for the rest of your life. So……I wrote and I continue to write. For years, I submitted articles to a website (AlohaWorld.com) and these were published and still can be seen in a section called “Hanabuddah Days”. I also maintained a blog on the now non-existent website know as Hawaiistories.com. NotesInTheKeyOfC is carried over from that website.
